An update?
It's been so long since I've posted here. It's almost embarrassing. But, life has been hectic. It's been a brutal winter, storm after storm, snow day after snow day. School has been closed so often over the past few months, that all of the school days have been used and now the school year has been extended. I don't recall a winter being so brutal in recent history. 1996? Yeah, I think it was 1996 when I went to school until the very end of June. Here's to hoping that the worst is behind us, as there only 16 more days until the official start of spring.
Jack and Emma just completed 100 days of school. I don't remember that being such a big deal when I was younger, but they like to celebrate it. I find it hard to believe that they are more than halfway finished with school for the 2013-2014 year. Jack is almost a 2nd grader and Em will be heading to kindergarten. How?
Jack is maturing so much. He is reading wonderfully. He likes to color and create things. He's very crafty and artsy. He's also such a cuddler. He is a handful, often not listening or fighting with his sisters, but he's 6. Isn't that what being 6 is all about? He is in his own room, now. He loves it. He is SO funny. Some of the things that come out of the kid's mouth make me laugh so hard. He is my little man.
Emma is evolving into such a little woman. I call her "Little Mother". She loves to help with the baby, and the baby I watch during the day (more on that later). She's so super girly. She loves all things make-up and fashion related. She's really into her hair, she brushes it non-stop. She is doing very well in school. She is also very artsy. She loves to paint. Her teacher says she takes her work very seriously and she's a great student. She can also be very stubborn, and she's a very intense little girl. We are working on 'calming down' and just taking it easy. Easier said than done
Sara is potty trained, now. She picked it up so quickly. She has become very shy. it takes her a long time to warm up to people, but once she does, she'll be your best friend. She's FUNNY, and she knows it. She is super snuggly and loves to cuddle. She and Emma share a room, now. She's been sleeping better now that she has company. She wakes up early, though, and Emma loves her sleep, so that's been a tiny issue. She is also very girly and into "girly" things, such as make-up and dressing up. I'm pretty sure she believes she's a princess.
Alex is now 14 months old. He's running all over the place. He's very vocal and has a few words that he says regularly (Hi, Mama, Dada, Yeah, No, Wow). He was never a very cuddly baby, but as he's getting older, he LOVES giving hugs and will actually sit for a bit with me. He LOVES everything about outside. Playing outside, looking outside, he even talks to the outside from the living room window. Reason #45657546 why I can't wait for spring. Alex has developed into a bit of a walking disaster crazy baby. He's had stitches, he's always falling and hurting himself, walking into things, bleeding. He also has crazy food allergies. HELLO BABY #4, you're supposed to be my EASIEST. He is so far from 'easy', it's almost comical. But, he has my heart. He is such a lover. He loves his siblings, and loves to play with them. He's just such a joy...when he isn't making my hair gray.
I've been working from home since January. Babysitting. I know, I know, but seriously...what's one more? My days are crazy, but having Greg home more (his quit the part time job!!) makes it all worth it.
What else is there to say? There is never a dull moment in my house. It's always loud, it's never clean, and it's shrinking. But we have fun. There is a lot of love here, and that does my heart good.
It's literally been months since I've used my camera. But, the camera phone is always being used. So, I have a bunch of pics that need to be posted. I'll do that during afternoon nap at 2pm.
I'm going to try and post more. We shall see how that goes.
