Jack-4 years
My boy. My big, brave boy. He had his 4 year check-up this past week. He did really well. He needed a shot and I really thought he would lose it, but he let out a mere "ow" and it was over.
He's in the 50% for height at 40.75 inches tall, and 50% for weight at 37 pounds. He's meeting all of his age appropriate milestones. She asked if he could write his name, he cannot. She asked if he can draw certain things, and he can't do that either. I guess I haven't been working hard enough with him on those things, so I'm going to try and devote a bit more time to that, and hope that it sinks in.
I did forget to mention to her that he doesn't seem to retain information at times. It's hard to explain. He has a great long term memory, but his short term memory isn't so wonderful. I'll keep an eye on it, and if it gets weird, I'll mention it. He will also, very obviously, need speech therapy. His "ch" sounds like an "s" and his "s" and "c" sounds like "th". Think "teasher" for teacher, and "thara grath" for Sara Grace. I'm trying to tell him where to place his tongue , but he's not getting it, so that's for a professional therapist to work on with him.
He's like a little dude. The things this child says. I can't even get over how articulate he is, and how amazing his imagination is. He does whine an awful lot, though. Over. Everything. It's annoying. I can't figure out how to get him to stop! I'm guessing it's just one of those things that will just pass.
All in all, my boy is my joy. He's a great son, a great brother, and a great kid. I can't believe that he starts preschool is 17 days! Where has the time gone?

Kev wasn't saying s-blend words very well at Jack's age, but it's improved since. We would hold back on a toy or a snack until he said a word right. Turns out he was just being silly. Good luck with Jack.
