Jack's School Daze
Well, the first week of school is here and gone. We've gotten used to our new 'normal' and have adjusted to the new schedule.
Jack has done SO well. His confidence and positive attitude has made the transition easier...especially for his ol' Mother.
There were no tears shed on day one. Well, wait. I lied. The tears that we shed on day one were from Emma. Emma who wanted to stay with her brother. More tears came later when I went to get Mr. Preschool from school. He didn't want me to drive him, he wanted to take the bus. Really, Jack? I guess I should be happy that he wanted to be so independent and try something out
of his comfort zone...and I AM happy for that, but I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly and so easily. Again, happy about it, but...not.
I'm pleased with his school and his teacher. Back to School night was informative and I'm impressed with the schools academic achievements. I'm hopeful to stay in this area once we move (whenever that happens) because I would love for him to stay there and for the girls to go there. But I'm getting ahead of myself...
The middle of week one saw jack coming home from school with a 'gift' from a friend on the bus. A blue bracelet. It was from a girl. Yup. Upon talking about this girl, he told me that he wished she could join us for dinner. To hear my preschooler talk about having a girl over for dinner makes me laugh and cringe at the same time! In all seriousness, I think it's adorable.
I can't believe I have a preschooler! I can't believe I go to the bus stop twice a day! I can't believewe he transitioned so well.
I'm so proud of you, Boo. So, so proud!
