Howdy!
How nice that I haven't updated in over a month.
I have no idea where to even begin!
We've had the end of summer and the beginning of school. September is gone and we are preparing for Halloween! Time! If you don't keep track of it, it gets away far too quickly.
Quick updates on the babes:
Jack- Jack is in 2nd grade. He's doing well. Math is proving to be an issue (sorry, Jack) but he's working through it. He seems so big to me lately. Tall, mature. He's a smart ass (I can say that, he's my kid) but he's adorable. He loves to help! He is a Boy Scout! It took us a while to find him a troop, but he's now a member and loves it. It just started, so I can't wait to see what he'll be doing. He's not a sports kind of kid but I wanted him to do something, so we decided that Boy Scouts would be it. He loves to read and lives in the world of television. I've had to severely restrict his TV time, because it's getting to be an issue. The world could be falling down around him, but as long as the Hub Network is on, he'll be fine. He's a cute kid. He needs some more self-confidence, and hopefully as he gets older that will be something that comes a bit easier for him. All in all, he's your typical 7 year old kid and I just love him so much it hurts.
Emma- Emma is in kindergarten. She LOVES it. Her first day was rough but she adjusted quickly. It's weird not having her here during the day! She's doing well with homework and really loves to learn. She is growing so quickly. She's so tall and skinny...quite like her mother. She is my #1 helper. The kid will help anyone do anything, whether you ask her or not. She's super helpful, but super intense about it. She does need to take a chill pill every once in a while. She's polite and patient. She also asks roughly 19,875 questions a day. No two questions are alike, mind you. She asks things that I'm just not even sure how to answer. She's giving me a run for my money in that department. She loves to play by herself. She's very independent. She would sleep until noon if I let her. She still talks with an accent. We are signing her up for 4-H...that's right up her alley! I will always contend that there is just something special about Emma, and it remains true. She's a joy and I love her too much madly.
Sara- Oh, Sara. Sara is fully entrenched in crappy behavior. Yeah, yeah, she's 3. Yeah, yeah, her nickname is Sassy for a reason. Yeah, yeah IT'S GETTING OLD. She's my third 3 year old and by far the worst. That said, she's amazingly sweet, and verbal and articulate, and helpful and happy. The kid is either REALLY happy, or REALLY upset and crying. It's all about extremes with her. She's beautiful. Adorable. The smile...oh the smile. She really loves Emma, and one day, hopefully soon, the love will be reciprocated. She loves to dance and pose for pictures. She is one of a kind, that is for sure. She's probably the cuddliest of the 4 and tells me that she loves me roughly 57,912 times a day. No complaints about that! She's still my crappiest sleeper, but knock on wood, she's been doing much, MUCH better. Oh Sara and her sassy ways. I love her to the moon and back.
Alex- Mr. Tornado. The Whirlwind. The Hurricane. Any force of nature works, actually, when describing Alex Michael. Let's start with the good. He's so cute. He talks so much and is starting to put short sentences together. Great sleeper. He's fun. He gives great hugs. He loves his siblings. He's so smart. It boggles my mind how he's so articulate and so smart at not even 2. Now the bad. He's too quick, too energetic, too intense. His attention span in non-existent. He hits, bites, pulls hair, screams, yells, throws himself on the ground...he's "that kid." It's non-stop 'Tornado' action from sun up to sun down. I do believe that Mommy is too old for this nonsense, so cut it the hell out! I won't lie, it's frustrating and little worrisome. I do believe that it's much more than age related, or typical 'boy' behavior. It's his behavior that keeps me up at night, worrying. I have spoken to his doctor about it and we are keeping an eye on it as he gets older. I'm very happy with his doctor (we've switched) and I feel that she and are on the complete same page. So, we will see what happens. It is what it is, I suppose. My #4 is an amazing kid, though. His hugs and kisses will melt you and he's so loving at times. I love him more than life itself.
Oh the love I have for these four ever-growing, ever-changing little humans that I'm raising. Life isn't always easy...nope, not by any means...but I would have it no other way.
