Looking behind while moving forward-Halloween 2014
I have a lot to catch up on over here. I'm behind on so much. In order to get caught up, I just need to move forward. So, we start today.
Halloween was two days ago. I was never really a fan, but the kids have fun, so I suck it up and enjoy it with them.
I tend to want to try theme costumes with them, because I guess I'm that Mom. Jack and Emma were Peter Pan and Tinkerbell one year, and then Mickey and Minnie the next. We went for a Disney theme when Sass came along, Snow White, Lightening McQueen and Jessie one year and Ariel, Jake, and the recycled Minnie costume next. Last year they were all over the place, so this year I talked up a theme very early on. We went for The Justice League! My little superheroes! To you purists...Emma was Robin and Robin is not technically in the Justice League, so forgive me. I know nothing about any of that superhero stuff, I just wanted them to look cute.
Halloween 2014 had potential to be great, but we had an incident Halloween night. Our dog, Gus, was attacked by another dog in the neighborhood. This happenend in front of the Bigs, and Jack, in particular, was pretty traumatized. Gus is ok. We took him to the dog ER, and they fixed him up. I'm doing wound care on him twice a day and making sure he gets his meds. He's a trooper, though, and feeling better by the hour. We are so thankful that it wasn't worse! Poor Bub.
Aside from that, though, the kids had fun and made out like bandits.
I wonder what next year's theme will be?!?!
