Emma's Big Day

For about a year or so, Emma has been getting the American Girl catalog in the mail. And, for about a year or so, Emma has been asking for an American Girl Doll.  They are SO freaking expensive, and I could never justify spending full price, even though, deep down, I always wanted one and would LOVE it if I could get her one.  I was asking around on FB for a used one, figuring I could get it cleaned up and buy some new clothes for her.  Enter Aunt Laur and Uncle Joe.  They had offered to buy her one, as a combination Birthday/Christmas present.  That turned into taking her to the actual American Girl store for her to pick it out.  That turned in to Jack and I going as well, AND we were all going to see the Christmas tree for the first time!!!  It wasn't too cold that day, so walking around in the city wasn't too bad.  I love the City and I don't get to go nearly as often as I do.  The kids have always talked about going so I was so excited to share my love of  the City with them.

In the American Girl Store.  She was so excited.

Jack checking out Rockefeller Center.  He was in awe.

The tree!  I can't believe that this was my first time seeing it.  But, I was thrilled to have the experience with my kids.

My Bigs are seasoned subway riders, now.

At Penn, waiting for our train.

Emma and Samantha.  Samantha was MY favorite when I was growing up, and I was so thrilled when Emma picked her out.

So that was the big city trip.  I'm so thankful that we are surrounded by people who love my kids as much as they do.  Thank you Joey and Lauren for making Em's American Girl dreams come true.  We're so thankful for you both.
