The Haus of Sick
The sick house. That's what this is.
It all started with Jack (damn school). He had a cough. This cough would NOT go away! He had it before Halloween, during Halloween, after Halloween. However, it was just a nagging cough. It would especially bad in the middle of the night, and it woke him up a few times. It wasn't fun. He coughed and coughed and coughed. At one point, the cough changed. It went from that dry, barking cough, to a wet, nasty cough. It was at this point (I think it was a Saturday) that I decided I should bring him back to the doc to get looked at again. I decided to wait until Monday, because for as bad as the cough was, he was seemingly okay. Well, until that Sunday night. The poor little dude started complaining of an ear ache. A bit later, he complained some more. He was in so much pain that he couldn't sleep. At one point, he was begging m to take him to the hospital. This was all at 2am, by the way. So, I figured if he was asking to go to the hospital, he was pretty sick, so I went to change my clothes and in the 3 minutes it took me to do that, he had fallen asleep. So we didn't go to the hospital, but we did go to the doctor's that day and he was diagnosed with a sinus infection and a terrible ear infection. Antibiotics for him...
As Jack began his antibiotics, Emma and Sara started to get sniffly. Figures. But, at this point it was just the sniffles. That is until I heard that same barking cough in the middle of the night over the baby monitor. It sounded like Emma, so I got a glass of water and brought it to her. To my surprise, that huge, barking cough was coming from the baby. Grrrrreat. The next night, more coughing, Sara AND Emma. The next night, I started feeling awful. Saturday saw Greg and I taking the sick girls to the doctor; Greg with a hurt back, me with a near-101 degree temperature. Emma "just" has a terrible cold, (which is probably about to turn into an infection) and Sara has an ear infection. It has been a straight 3 weeks or so of coughing, and sneezing and SNOT. Oh the snot. How much snot can 3 little noses produce, you ask? GALLONS, I tell you! It's not pleasant.
So, let's recap, 3 current infections, a bad cold (that sounds worse every day), and a hurt back. All in the past month or so. We are in tip-top shape over here, people!
The germs need to keep their germiness to themselves, and the weather needs to stop freaking out. NO MORE SICK, please?!
