Jack-December Update
Jack has been in school since September. I've met with his teacher, once officially, and a bunch of times at class functions. She has nothing but great things to say about him, and I can't help but agree. She talks about his enthusiasm, and his willingness to learn and help. I've always been proud of him, but to hear a professional talk about the same things that I've noticed all of these years just reinforces the fact that he's a super-smart kid.
He's also been so helpful around the house. He loves to help clean and cook. He's encouraging to Emma (when he's not fighting with her) and you can tell she really just loves it. He wants to be 'big and strong' like his Daddy. He's such a lover, showering all of us with kisses at any given moment during the day. He loves to dance and sing, and have a good time. He's really good at puzzles, and he loves to color. He can spell Jack, Emma, Sara, Mommy, and Daddy, both out loud and on paper.
Also, he's absolutely crazy about his baby sister. I dare say she's his favorite person in this house. He lights up when he sees her. He laughs at everything she does, and he encourages her to do things like roll over and crawl. He wants her first word to be 'brother'. You can tell that he takes this big brother thing very seriously.
He's still super sensitive, and gets offended very easily. He's so stubborn and will whine and cry at the drop of a hat, and he'll laugh and have a good time a second later. Got to love the bi-polar personality of a 4 year old. He loves his family, and will let you know at any given moment of the day.
He's a pretty awesome kid. 4 year old behaviors aside, he's truly a joy. I couldn't have asked for a better first born.
Love you, Boo. It's been another amazing year with you. You teach me more than I will ever teach you, and for that, I thank you!
