Down with the sickness
I swear it feels that all of my entries over the past few months have been about my children being sick. It's been nonstop since Jack started to school and it doesn't look like there will be an end in sight. It. Is. Getting. OLD.
Here are the latest ailments...
Last Wednesday, Jack came home from school looking gray. He looked so tired, and so...gross. I pointed it out to Greg, and he noticed it, as well. The next morning, BAM, fever. Grrreat. That fever lasted until early Sunday. It was at that time that the cough started. What a disgusting, hacking, barking, cough. He coughed all day, and all night. His nose was like a faucet. Yipee!
Emma has been sick for some time. We took her to the doctor 2 weekends ago, she was diagnosed with a 'cold'. 6 days later, BAM, pneumonia. Awesome!
Sara, the poor darling, she's been sick half of her life! Looks like she had RSV, which turned into bronciolitis, which resulted in bronchial spasms, choking and a wonderful trip to the ER via ambulance. She's been on a nebulizer for almost a month and we were told she will most likely need it the entire winter. Oh, and it's likely she will also have asthma growing up. Score!
Well, I sit here tonight, please as punch to announce that all 3 seem to be feeling better. There is still coughing, occasionally. Sara can breathe without choking, Emma can go without blowing her nose every 3.5 seconds, and Jack finally looks like Jack again.
I'm hopeful, and probably a little delusional, when I say, I hope the worst is over and that I can get my healthy kids back. I'ts heartbreaking to watch them suffer and I've had my fill of blowing noses, sucking snot, and giving breathing treatments.
This is certainly a winter I will never forget!!
