Summer Sick Sucks
It all started 3 weeks ago. Greg developed a sinus infection and an ear infection. After being on antibiotics to kick that, he developed pink eye. After finishing his drops for that, it was tonsillitis and ANOTHER ear infection. For a man who 'never' gets sick, this was a lot of sick in a short amount of time.
Of course, I was concerned that the kids would get it. Any of it. We were good for a while. Until Jack was diagnosed with strep throat this past weekend. He isn't too miserable, since we caught it really early and started antibiotics right away, but he did have a low grade temp and was pretty run down. Sara woke up yesterday from her nap with green goop pouring out of her eye. Pouring. It was disgusting. I wasn't really sure what was going on, but I didn't think anything of it as I wiped it out of her eye. When it came right back, I realized we had a problem. After her afternoon nap, her eye was crusted over. Mommy called the Dr. and the Dr. said...pink eye. I would just like to mention that I've never seen an eye this gross in my life. So, we have to give her drops in EACH eye THREE TIMES A DAY. She was insane last night, and it took both Greg and I to hold her down. This morning, when it was just me, she screamed like I was pulling her toenails out, one by one.
We've been stuck inside for the greater part of the summer. The cars have taken turns breaking (4 times, per car). There has been sickness. I have new babies to see and I won't even think about it until everyone is 100%. The summer hasn't been the best. It's been a very expensive summer, I just wish we had the vacation memories to show for it! It's okay. There's always next year.
School starts VERY soon. I'm hoping to get back to the beach a couple more times before then. Here's t hoping!
