Greetings from our new home
Well, we did it! After years of talking about it, we finally moved. We've been here for a week and things are slowly coming together. I don't feel "at home" yet, but I will once I get some pictures on the wall, boxes unpacked and our new furniture arrives.
The kids are adjusting. There have been tears, and confusion. But, it's to be expected. For the most part, however, they've done wonderfully.
We are taking on small home improvement projects, such as stripping the kitchen of it's public bathroom looking pink tiles and it's dreadful dark wood paneling. We have the next 30 years of our lives to finish the improvements (yeah, we aren't moving for a loooong time) so we are going to take it slow.
I'm not in any sort of groove yet. I'm still in unpacking/cleaning/decorating mode.
There are parts of this house that I love. There are parts that I'm not too fond of, such as the creaky wood floors that are SO loud. I love having a full sized washer/dryer and full sized fridge. I love having a laundry room. Gosh, you know you stay at home when THOSE are things you're excited about.
Sara started full on walking the day we moved in. SHe was doing well before the move, but she still crawled as her main form of 'transportation'. Now, she's a full on walker. And as always, I regret ever wishing walking would happen. She's also teething, so sleep is difficult...yet again... and she's just not her normal happy self.
Greg is in handyman/landscapers heaven. He has so many ideas. I'm happy he's happy. He's worked very hard for this. We both have.
So, kiddos. We did it. We got you your house with a playroom and a backyard. You prayed for it every night, and I'm glad that your prayers were able to be answered. I'm so glad that we were able to get a house before #4 got here. I hope you are happy and I hope you love this house.
