More sick.
It's been a non-stop house of sick people since Jack started school. And not just a cough and sniffle kind of sick. Like, REALLY sick. High fevers, terrible coughs, sore throats...it's been a lot.
Sara got really sick the day the Hurricane hit. The day after, she had a temp of almost 104. I've never dealt with anything like that before, ever. She was lethargic, coughing, just a mess. All of her doctors offices were closed, most power was out, and most roads were closed. I had no choice other than to brave the post-Hurricane destruction and head to the ER.
I had to go through 2 police blockades, drive around fallen trees and downed telephone polls to get there, but get there we did. She was seen and treated for a double ear infection. That night, she started the vomit game. I don't do vomit. So, the next morning, we were able to get through to one of the doctors offices and we were able to get her in. Turns out, she did not have an ear infection, but raging strep throat. *sigh* So, home we came, armed with a script for the correct antibiotics. She's looking and sounding better these days, so I'm hopeful she's going to be better very soon.
Jack is just about finished with his antibiotics for a terrible ear infection. He was getting sick with fevers out of no where, and it turns out he was sick for a while and not treated because the infection wasn't showing for whatever reason. He was really sick, too. Like, miserably, pathetically sick. I felt so bad for the little dude, but as of right now, he seems to be much better.
Emma, right now, is the sickest. She finished anitbiotics for a sinus infection last Saturday. By Monday she was sick again. She came to the doctors with Sara and I and it was deemed 'viral' and it should go away on it's own. Which means, she will be on antibiotics again soon, because it NEVER goes away on it's own.
And my kids...my lovely kids. They cough in my face all day, and in Sara's case, all night, and of course now I have a terrible cough and itchy throat. I Just got over the sickness from hell, and I certianly don't need it again! I wish they would share their toys as well as they share their germs.
Here's to hoping that once we are out of such cramped quarters, the sickness will be gone!
