Letter to #4
Dearest #4,
You've been good. Really good. My pregnancies haven't been great. Lots of hospital visits, weird pains and illnesses, weird blood counts...just eventful, ridiculous pregnancies. Aside from the typical round ligament syndrome and braxton hicks contractions, this one hasn't been terrible. The morning sickness has dissipated and the heaving has slowed down. So, you #4, were winning in the pregnancy category...
...until the other night, when I thought you were going to make a break for it. I had MONSTER contractions for hours. Not regular, but HUGE, uncomfortable and ridiculous. Your father made me call the doctor and of course they told me to go in to the hospital right away.
I was monitored for two hours and had tiny cramps/contractions the whole time, but nothing too serious. It was amazing, once I got to the hospital and hooked up to the monitor, the monster contractions stopped. And I felt like a fool. Oh well, it wasn't the first time I've felt like that, and it certainly won't be the last.
The final diagnosis was "it's just what your uterus likes to do." Um, okay. I need to take it easy a bit and make sure to drink enough water.
In closing, Mr. #4, cut it out. The contractions that I had that day have been around sporadically since, and I just don't have time for it. Cut. It. Out. I've successfully kept your siblings cooking until they were ready, and I fully intend to do the same with you, so stop your antics and just chill out. Kay? I know that I keep saying, "I can't wait to see him", but I mean in December. Got it. Glad I could clarify. See you in 7 weeks.
Love always and forever,
Your Mommy
