Emma's first day of Pre-K

As if having a first grader isn't insane enough...I also have a pre-schooler.  My biggest girl started school on September 11.  I was SO super nervous, and uncertain as to how Emma would react to being away from me.  Emma is notoriously shy, and is a little stand-offish at times when she is uneasy or out of her comfort zone.  This all weighed heavily on my mind on that first day, so of course I didn't sleep the night before.

I woke her up that morning and she was so excited.  She couldn't wait to ride the bus with her brother, and she couldn't wait to get to school to meet her new friends.

So, off to the bus we all went.  Daddy took the day off to see Emma on the bus for the first time.

They got on the bus holding hands and they got off the the same way.  Jack is such a protector, sometimes.  I love that about him.

Holding hands with her line buddy, getting ready to go into class.  It was at this point that "Shy Emma" came out for a bit of an appearance.  But, she worked through it herself, and was over it very quickly.

Off to Prek-K

So, I stopped taking pictures once we got into the classroom.  They all sat in a circle and started singing their hello song.  We left shortly after that.  I cried.  A lot.  I know, I know.  I'm THAT Mom.  Hey look.  I've poured my life into raising these kids for 6 years now.  They've never left my side.  It's so REWARDING to see them leave and succeed, and I didn't cry sad tears, I cried happy and proud tears.  I'm so proud of them!  

Her days are only 2.5 hours, so it goes quickly.  She was home before we knew it!  She LOVED her first day, and she's still in love with going to school every day.  I hope that lasts!  

I love you Emma.  My sensitive little one.  You've made me SO SO proud.  You are so special to me and I love watching you grow.  Thanks for being you!
