Checking in
When last we left off, Sara was having issues with sleep. I wish I could say that they are better, but truth be told, even if they were better, I wouldn't say it because I wouldn't want to jinx it. So, use your imagination.
We did wind up moving Al's crib to the office. The poor boy is just too big for his co-sleeper, and at the rate we were going with Sara's sleeping issues, there was no way he was going to be able to share with her. So, last night marked his first night away from me in his own room. He slept from 7:45 to 6:30. Yes, please and thank you. So, I guess this will be the new normal.
We tried cereal with the Big Guy and he liked it the first day, and every other day, he hated it. So, I stopped him. I will revisit it in a couple of weeks to see what his reaction is. His growth spurt seems to have calmed a bit, so he's not a crazed for food. He also has 2 teeth coming in. I swear, if the growth spurt, the itchy excema, or the yeast rash doesn't get you, the teething will. I feel for the kid. How he's not crying all day, every day I do not know.
On this particular day, Jack is home sick. I think it's allergies, but he woke up with a nasty, chesty cough and a sore throat, so I kept him home to be on the safe side.
Today is also the day we sign Emma up for preschool! I can't even believe it. Apparently the township is toying with the idea of a full day session for pre-schoolers (at the school she will go to, not sure f it's district wide.) I will pass on that. If she had already been in daycare or a preschool program, I would consider it, but to go from nothing, to all day away...I just don't think Emma would appreciate it. Okay, maybe it's more like I don't think I would appreciate it, but we will blame it on Emma. Oh, stop. I'm kidding. Kind of.
The kids have been outside a lot more. See, the downside to moving in the winter is that you're not really able to meet everyone. So, as the weather has gotten warmer, the metric ton of kids in the neighborhood who already know eachother would pay outside, and my kids played by themselves. That's fine, I don't mind. But, one day, one of the little girls who is Jack's age came over to play. You would have thought that their favorite TV character walked into the backyard, they were so excited. It's been rough for them, not having the kids from the old house around, and it was really making them sad and I really didn't know what to do. So, I'm glad that this happened, and hopefully they will form great friendships that will last. That's my hope for them. So, here's to hoping.
I really need to get my picture-taking booty in gear. My camera goes untouched for weeks at a time. I need to add "take more pictures" to my ever-increasing daily to-do lists.
Okay, time to fill out Emma's school forms!
