I love going to the St. Matthias Carnival. I've gone nearly every year since I can remember. I LOVE LOVE LOVE sharing my childhood memories with my kids. So, off we went, this past Saturday to see what kind of fun we could have.
It was raining, of course. It's a well known fact that when the carnival is in town, it rains the entire week. It's always rained. ALWAYS. So, this particular day was just par for the course.
We got there and it was pouring. After debating a bit on whether to stay or go, the rain let up enough for us to wonder around. There was hardly a soul there, so there were no lines for rides! The kids were a bit bummed because we were going to meet up with friends, but they decided to not come because of the weather. So, we hit up rides right away...

First the dragon ride. Sara was all gung-ho for it...until it started moving. I was *that* Mom who had to have the ride stopped so their kid could get off. The guy was super nice about it, though, and let us ride it super long after we let her off. At this point, the rain totally let up and stopped for the duration of our time there! It was so cool how that worked out for us!! |

| The carousel was next. |
| This was our favorite. |
| Even the Sass joined us...along with Daddy. |
Trying to win fish. They were successful....unfortunately. |
| Dino Jack |
| Motorcycling |
| Sass checking out her brother and sister |
| The Bigs and their loot. They have a serious cotton candy obsession |
| If you know anything about me, you know what Greg was in line for.... |
| FUNNEL CAKE!!! It was glorious. |
| Sass mid-snack break |
| This is Blue and Nemo. My finned friends. |
So, that was that. After we left the carnival, we went to the pet store for some fish supplies, and ended up with 4 more fish! One for each member of the family. Their names are Blue, Nemo, Flipper, Jaws, Goldie and Peanut.
I can't wait for the carnival to come back. I truly love going. I hope the kids continue to enjoy it as much as they did this year.
